Sorry for the late post friends. The day got away from me, and all the sudden it was 10:00pm and I hadn't blogged. Yikes.
This week I'm going with one of my favorite bands from when I was in the 9th grade. Well, I don't think they had recorded this song at that time, but they had recorded the CD "lost and gone forever" and the freshman girls softball team would listen to it all the time in the locker room.
This particular song I really loved when I worked at god camp. The lyrics just seemed kinda fitting at a time when I was working with kids, telling them things about a god and a religion that I didn't know if I believed in. In particular, the lyrics "it’s easier sometimes / Not to be sincere / Somehow I make you believe" struck a chord with me. At the time I also felt the song was fitting since working at camp felt a little like being forced back into the closet a little bit. It was more of a "don't ask, don't tell" sort of feeling.
My words confuse you
My eyes don’t move a blink
Cause it’s easier sometimes
Not to be sincere
Somehow I make you believe
Believe
When I speak I cross my fingers
Will you know you’ve been deceived?
I find a need to be the demon
A demon cannot be hurt
Honest is easy
Fiction is where genius lies
Cause it’s easier sometimes
Not to be involved
Somehow I make you believe
Believe
When I speak I cross my fingers
Will you know you’ve been deceived?
I find a need to be the demon
A demon cannot be hurt
When I speak I cross my fingers
Will you know you’ve been deceived?
I find a need to be the demon
A demon cannot be hurt
When I speak I cross my fingers
Will you know you’ve been deceived?
I find a need to be the demon
A demon cannot be hurt
