Two Soldiers :: Brooke Miller

Hey dears. Sorry it's late. I actually just saw this song on the candyrat page of youtube. It's a good place to bask in fabulous pickin's. I love that it sounds like some old folksong about soldiers and war - like it sprouted out of old England or something. It sounds timeless, and then it's got lines about the West Bank.
I've been thinking a lot about how easy it is to forget that history is happening to us and that we're all making it whether we're living with intention or not. I wonder what our grandchildren will learn about these times. There's far too much intricacy in the present for all of it to be passed down to future generations. I hope songs like this will last.
"I'm from a small town
no cause and no elites.
There was a market where people often meet.
I remember loved ones and I don't remember peace.
These are the loneliest days I've seen."
