Libertango :: Astor Piazzollo (performed by the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo)

Hee hee. I dig this song cuz it's so damn hot. Seems like this is about the closest thing to sex on a piano that a pair of conservatory students could get credit for performing. And the leather pants don't hurt either :)

Actually these two (Elizabeth Joy Roe and Greg Anderson) have been playing together since shortly after they met as Julliard freshmen in 2000. In between getting their bachelor and master's degrees from there, they were also doing piano competitions all over the world as solo artists. Maybe that's not uncommon if you're a Julliard piano student, but these two were ADORED there and got much critical acclaim for their badassity as performers and composers. As a college duo, they performed in venues all over New York City from Carnegie Hall to children's hospitals to cancer centers. Now they're taking the rest of the world by storm. They've been called "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard". And every performance has (to use their words) "an unhealthy dose of epinephrine (an adrenaline hormone)". They perform transcribed and original compositions for both four hand and two piano hootinanies.

In short, they rule.

Their website is interactive and it too rules. So go check it out! www.andersonroe.net
