Cornfield :: Rose Polenzani

I stumbled upon Rose Polenzani's youtube videos while musically stalking Annabelle Chvostek (talented instrumentalist and songstress, formerly of the Wailin' Jennys). I found a computer cam youtube duet of the two of them that just killed me. Then I had to look up everything ROSE had done too. The woman has 22 videos and most of them are web cam videos of her singing with her friends (many of whom are working musicians and songwriters). The line between music and friend communion is blurred because these folks are bringing their best to the table and she's putting it out there for us to enjoy.

This video was filmed at Rose's birthday party - for fun they choreographed a music video to one of her songs. Looks like a blast, sounds like an insightful and creatively made recording and movie - and music and life are bleeding into each other. Sounds good to me.

P.S. If you wanna see more of Rose's videos, then this would be the perfect time to direct you to my OTHER music blog (I swear, I'm not a traitor, ladies) at

http://wigdeaf.blogspot.com/

(from the song "When I Go Deaf" by Low). It's a blog that my friend Paul and I started. We give each other music mix assignments and then reply with our own. If it turns out that you're geeky like the two of us, feel free to reply to any of the assignments with mixes of your own or contact me with your own mix assignment ideas.
