Okay, I'll be a dork and admit that the first time I heard this song was when I saw Rush Hour 3 at the drive-in last summer. It came during a quasi-burlesque scene, and I was utterly mesmerized. I did some googling and found out it was a duet between Brigitte Bardot and a goofy French folk singer named Serge Gainsbourg. They did several numbers together for a French TV special sometime in the late 60s. I love this song primarily for Bardot- her dull droning makes my scalp tingle. It's magic.

i love the way brigitte bardot struts around with that gun. it's fricking hilarious.
she's so cool!
Goofy??...............Maybe. A little. But he's still a genius. Seriously. Gainsbourg ain't nothing to fuck with, and he's not a folksinger. Check out "Contact," also with Bardot. The man is a genius.

Bardot was more sex-kitten than chanteuse, and Gainsbourg is considered the dirty old man of French pop. The two of them together are hot.
